Chad Benefield has elected me to drive the van in the massive convoy parade that is the MOONLIGHT RIDE 2015!  Awesome stuff!  If you need me, I won't be too far behind.

Let's start back 1 year ago....  Erin Grant drove the van and did some recon missions for the Moonlight Ride 2014 and almost broke Chad's leg in half with a pedal cart.  This has absolutely nothing to do with the decision of the driver this year and I can assure you of that.

I can also insure you something else.  I will not get the van stuck in a ditch like Chad did last year.

For those of you that don't know, four of us rode pedal tractors in the Moonlight Ride 2014.  It was a blast until about... eh... the Shell Station on Carter road.  That's where we threw in the towel.  Leg's burning and little neon lights still flashing, Erin showed up and we had to figure out how to get 4 tractors into a van.  It wasn't easy but we managed.  Once we finished up the event and headed out to Trunnells to drop the tractors off, Chad got the van hung up in a ditch and there we sat for about an hour.

We tried it all.  Bouncing on the bumper for traction, filling in the hole with rocks.  We even took our broadcast pole and tried to shove it under the tire.  NOTHING worked.  Finally once Chad called the tow truck, we see headlights from across the road.... Someone was messing around a little too long on Mr. Trunnells property.  That would have been us.  He came over, we told him the story, cancelled the tow truck and he jerked the van out of the ditch.  Needless to say... we got new tires on the van.

Even after all of that, we are fully looking forward to The Moonlight Ride 2015 and it will be an amazing year!  We hope to see everyone out and about and ready to ride.

Like I said.  I'll be in the van and if anyone has a flat tire, popped chain or runs out of breath.  I'll be there to rescue you!  We'll see you TONIGHT!!
