It's going to be a BIG weekend in Sturgis, Kentucky.  The Tri-State Spring Fling- a benefit for Xakhary Abercrombie, who was born with a very rare eye condition, gets underway Saturday morning at 7am.   Xakhary was essentially born with no irises in his eyes and needs an advanced surgery to help repair his condition.  And, Saturday, there are all kinds of ways you can be involved in the efforts to help!

Here at WBKR, we were contacted by David Russell, who, along with Xakhary's grandfather Steve Utley, organized the Tri-State Spring Fling fundraiser.  And the event promises to be HUGE!   It's scheduled for THIS SATURDAY in Sturgis, Kentucky at the John Arnold Arena.  Among the scheduled activities will be: an indoor corn hole tourney, car/truck show, poker run, vendors, food, drinks, petting zoo, bounce house and 1/2 pot jackpots and more.

All proceeds from the event will benefit 14-year-old Xakhary.  The estimated cost of the surgery he needs is $30,000.  That surgery will essentially place prosthetic irises in Xakhary to help reduce the amount of light that comes into his eyes.  It's believed this surgery will greatly improve Xakhary's quality of life.

The Tri-State Spring Fling: Xakhary's Fight for Sight is presented by the Fraternal Order of Eagles. All checks/donations/sponsorships need to be made payable to: Fraternal Order of Eagles, 108 N Court St, Morganfield, KY 42437.
