Throwback Thursday: Who Remembers King Cobra at Kings Island? [Video]

Here's a great blast from the past for you!  Who remembers the King Cobra roller coaster at Kings Island?  Remember?  It was the coaster you stood up on!

Here's video from aboard the King Cobra.  I can't even tell you how many times my friends and I rode this thing and had this view when we did it.  King Cobra was AWESOME!

King Cobra, when it debuted in 1984, was the first stand-up roller coaster in the United States.  It was a popular attraction at the park until it was closed in 2001.  Kings Island tried to sell the coaster, but was unable to do so and its parts were eventually used as spares for other coaster attractions.
