The entire nation was captivated and joined support for Lane Goodwin during his fight with cancer. I think it's safe to say that the Tri-State really took Lane and his family in during their journey and felt like we'd lost one of our own when he passed.

One of Lane's wishes was to find the cause of and a cure for cancer. His family took this challenge head on by starting the Thumbs Up For Lane Goodwin Childhood Cancer Foundation. Recently, Lane's mother, Angie, and the Foundation received a national award, the 2014 Eagle Rare Life Award, in which they were awarded $40,000! The Eagle Rare Life Award was created to honor individuals who lead rare, inspirational lives.

I'm so proud of them for all the hard work that they have put into this ongoing fight for a cure for childhood cancer. Here is the official 2014 Eagle Rare Life Award Grand Prize Winner video.
