A royal baby. Cubicle Guy. A tornado full of sharks. Carly Rae Jepsen's right arm. And a raccoon. What do they all have in common?

They are all stars of what Time Magazine's online news feed calls the five best viral videos of July.

Obviously, the royal baby was going to be among them. Personally, I never cared enough to watch any videos about the royal birth, but I also didn't care--like some very vocally did--if anybody else watched or was interested in that story. Whether anyone cared or not, it was big news.

Then there was Anthony Weiner once again telling the press about another indiscretion, except that it wasn't the New York City mayoral hopeful that people noticed. It was the guy peeping over the cubicle wall. I never saw him until he, not Anthony Weiner, became the story.

The Syfy Channel seems to go out of its way to come up with the most outlandish ideas for original movies. Most are largely ignored. But the network outdid itself with a movie about a giant waterspout that lifts sharks out of the ocean and drops them onto an unsuspecting Los Angeles. Naturally, the movie's called Sharknado and it's the highest profile "bad" movie ever produced by Syfy.

Pop star Carly Rae Jepsen, who had, perhaps, the biggest pop hit of 2012 with "Call Me Maybe" got to throw out the first pitch at a major league baseball game. Uh, let's just say it's a good thing she has no intention of giving up her day job.

And, finally, what happens when a raccoon tries to go medieval on your dog? Well, you go medieval on IT!

And there you have it. Time Magazine's five best viral videos for July 2013.
