Even though the weather doesn't feel like football weather, football season is here.  Friday night's start to the high school didn't disappoint at all.  Here at WBKR/WOMI, we are your home for Owensboro Catholic Aces Football.

If game one is any indication, the Aces look poised to have a strong season. The Aces kicked things into high gear earlier on as quarterback, Ray Zuber, tossed a 50-yard touchdown early in the first quarter.  Zuber would add two more TD's to his total before the final horn sounded. The Aces also got some help from their special teams returning a punt 60 yards to the end zone. When things were said and done the Aces routed county rival Apollo 49-15.

Here are other scores from around the Tri-State:

  • Owensboro 39
  • Daviess County 7
  • Muhlenburg Co. 14
  • Ohio Co. 13
  • Ballard Memorial 46
  • McLean Co. 15
  • Reitz 34
  • Henderson Co. 13

Join us next Friday night for more Gridiron action next Friday night as the Aces return to action. Kickoff at 7 PM on 1490 WOMI.
