Sherri Bryant of Central City has been nominated by her daughter Heather Garrett:

Compassionate, caring, selfless…only a few of the words I could use to describe my Mom, Sherri Bryant. If you’ve ever had the honor of knowing her, you’ve quickly realized you’ve met an angel here on Earth. She is a wonderful Christian mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. Her giving heart is evident in her every move. Yet, she humbly wants no attention for her works. Her faith has made her who she is today and her faith carried her through the trial of battling breast cancer.

Cindy Ward of Philpot has been nominated by her sister Tammy Howard:

I am honored to nominate my sister, Cindy Ward, for the Kentucky Oaks Survivors Parade. She is one of the strongest women I know! The day after Christmas we were stunned to find out she had breast cancer. I was in complete denial. Not my sister! My sister is too fragile to handle such a destructive disease. Boy was I wrong! Once the shock had subsided, she took control of this beastly disease and hit it head on. She thoroughly researched her diagnosis: Stage II Invasive Ductile Carcinoma/Her 2 positive. She asked many questions. She knew the only way she was going to fully understand and feel confidant about her diagnosis was to ask as many questions as needed. She called on her prayer warriors through facebook, church bulletins, and prayer lists. One way or the other, God was going to hear her plea for healing. To read more of Cindy's story and to vote, CLICK HERE!Since it will be the 142nd running of the Kentucky Oaks, there will be a parade of 142 survivors. The survivors will receive two FREE reserved seats to the Kentucky Oaks, courtesy of Churchill Downs and the opportunity to walk the historic race track just before the running of the Kentucky Oaks. The 8th Annual Survivors Parade is proudly presented by Kroger.
