I would imagine that one of the last things the proprietor of a bar in Richmond, Kentucky expected to happen at his place of business over the weekend would end up involving athletes from the University of Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky University and the police.

But that's what happened after members of the UK and EKU football teams got into a fight at Jerzees in downtown Richmond early Sunday morning.

According to witnesses, one of Eastern's players sustained injuries after a bottle was broken on his face.

A Kentucky athletics spokesman says the school has no plans to offer comment at this time while Eastern Kentucky's vice president of communications said that no names could be confirmed and that the university had opened an investigation into the incident.
