Willie Cauley-Stein has had quiet games. And then, of course, Karl-Anthony Towns or Trey Lyles or Marcus Lee step up. But in Saturday afternoon's SEC semi-final against Auburn, WCS was louder than thunder.

And that was just the sound of those dunks.

Cauley-Stein was on fire, lighting up the Tigers for 18 points, 7 rebounds,  2 assists, and 3 blocks. And there were mid-range jump shots as well. Terrific performance from the 7-footer. Ashley Judd thought so, too. At one point, after a ridiculous slam from a lob, Judd was seen high-fiving everyone within a 6 person radius.

But WCS was only one of five Wildcats in double figures. Andrew Harrison was good for 15, while his brother Aaron contributed 12. Lyles and Devin Booker also tossed in a dozen apiece.

And the three-point shooting was solid. 50% from the field with the Harrisons, Booker, and Ulis all contributing.

Kentucky will now march on to the SEC Championship with a 33-0 record. It's not only the program's longest-ever winning streak, but the conference's as well.

In terms of what happens on Selection Sunday, Greg Shaheen, the selection chairman, has already said that Kentucky will be the overall number one seed. We usually don't get that info this early, but it's kind of a no-brainer. And if Shaheen is being interviewed about the selection process, I can see why he'd say "Why not?" due to the obvious nature of that particular decision.

I'd also imagine already knowing that overall top seed would make Sunday afternoon a little easier since that would be one last thing to worry about.

I love March Madness. What a great time of the year.

Kentucky has advanced and will try to win its 28th SEC Tournament title against either Georgia or Arkansas Sunday at noon on The Country Station 92.5 WBKR and on 99.1 and AM1490 WOMI.
