Update: A burnt airplane has been found by military and private helicopters only seven miles northwest of the Owensville airport.

Crews are in route to investigate but there's no word if it's the plane of missing Dr. Dalzell.

Dalzell is a a veteran pilot, with 30-plus years experience. He recently bought the 2012 experimental military replica plane that flies at extremely slow speeds.

He was last seen wearing a shirt which had “I got a new plane for my wife, it was a good trade” written on it. A vigil was held last night in hopes that he'd return safe.

Tuesday, May 31, 2016: The Kentucky State Police are searching for missing 70-year-old Owensboro pilot, Robert Dalzell, Jr. and his plane, a 2012 Green Aero Criquet Bogot.

Robert Dalzall, Jr. left Owensboro Regional Airport Monday morning and landed at Falls of Rough Airport in Grayson County. After landing, Dalzellleft a couple hours later and never returned or radioed that he had landed at another location. KSP says his last cell phone activity was at 11:32 a.m., which was within five miles of the Falls of Rough airport.

Robert Dalzall, Jr. is about 175 pounds, 5’5″, and grey hair with hazel eyes. KSP and the Civil Air Patrol are looking for a 2012 Green Aero Criquet Bogota fixed wing plane. Its tail number is N429BB. If you have information about Dalzall's whereabouts, please call 911.

Civil Air Patrol has two airplanes searching from Owensboro to Falls of Rough. Police are asking farmers and residents around the Falls of Rough Airport to be vigilant around their property.
