Extreme weather has taken its toll on the country in 2016, whether it be devastating tornadoes in central Indiana, flooding in South Bend and Louisiana, or any of the other severe weather outbreaks that have occurred this year.

And that sort of thing will always stretch the American Red Cross pretty thin.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, WBKR will join forces with other media outlets to help raise money for the Red Cross.

They're hosting a 12-plus-hour Tristate Cares telethon to raise funds for disaster relief from 6AM to 6:30PM.

The telethon will take place at the American Red Cross office at 29 South Stockwell Road.

Tornadoes that tore through Kokomo, Indiana destroyed more than 350 homes. Money raised will also support those affected by the severe flooding in South Bend, Indiana and recovery efforts in Louisiana.

Please call 812-471-7200 to contribute or visit www.redcross.org/cm/tristatecares-pub.
