It’s fun to watch movies like Back to the Future, in the future. Apparently, we are supposed to ride flying skateboards and our fashion is eerily similar to 1985. So, what did people in the 30s think we’d be wearing in the year 2000 and beyond? Some of the things, though not dead on, strike a resemblance to today. The men’s outfit was a little over-the-top but having a personal phone and needing multiple place to put accessories was accurate. I’m not sure what “candy for cuties” refers to. Sounds a little creepy…
I think it’s interesting how almost every depiction of “the future” is space themed when in reality we have pretty much abandoned our space obsession and shut down the American shuttle program indefinitely. In reality, we just dress a whole lot more slobby, the runway is full of oddball outfits that no one would actually wear, wearing less is okay with society and retro is in. Now, it’s your turn! What will fashion look like in 70 years?
