The summer is coming to an end but there is still a chance to catch a few more rainbows and good times around the tri-state!

Owensboro and surrounding cities are improving their riverfronts, parks, and local events more and more each year. These days you need only to travel a few blocks or a few miles to find free wholesome family fun and great music! The Daviess County Lions Club Fair kicked off this week and lasts through July 27th. Located at the Daviess County Fair Grounds off Hwy 54 East in Philpot. That is not the only fair fun you're going to find this week. The Hopkins County Fair kicked off this week with a huge crowd and tons of fun stuff for the whole family. The Hopkins fair lasts through July 27th with rides, prizes, music, vendors, and food. The Hopkins County Fair is located at the Ballard Convention Center on 605 East Arch St. in Madisonville. If Ohio County is your residential area try out the Community Dance at Ohio County Park every Saturday night from 7 to 10:30pm. You can always visit the home of the Monroe Family. You can guarantee there will be plenty of bluegrass, country, and gospel music to delight the senses, and keep in mind the Rosine Barn Jamboree is coming up August 2nd at 6pm.

Last but certainly not least Friday After Five in downtown Owensboro rolls on with a never ending selection of local musicians and gorgeous sights to see in the beautifully renovated downtown district. Smothers park has everything from water implements and play structures for the kids to lovely fountains that would make the perfect backdrop for a family photo that will keep the good times in mind for generations. This Friday July 26th check out Discfunktn'l Groove sponsored by Unilever. Friday After Five is the Platinum Award Winner for community events and Owensboro has been named an "All American City". August 2nd check out After Midnight powered by Kenergy. I caught this rainbow pic in my backyard while getting ready for a trip to the park with the fam. Get the most rainbows and music out of the rest of your summer before the getting is too late!
