It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and folks are heading into the kitchen to bake up some delicious Christmas goodies.  In this week's edition of What's Cookin'? Valerie Holcomb is sharing her recipe for the "best sugar cookies ever" AND she's offering you some video tips for how to best use cookie cutters.  This woman has a ton of cookie cutters and, trust us!  She knows how to use 'em.  Look!

THE BEST SUGAR COOKIES EVER

1 c butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 c sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 egg
3 cups flour

Preheat oven to 400 degrees (or 375 if you're oven runs hot).

In a large bowl, cream softened butter and sugar with an electric beater. Beat in egg and vanilla. Blend baking powder and flour, add one cup at a time, mixing after each addition. The dough will be very stiff, blend last flour by hand, if necessary.

Do not chill dough.

Roll out on floured surface, to desired thickness. Cut into shapes and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 5-7 minutes, or until lightly browned.
