What’s the Deal with That? – Two Signs on Owensboro Streets Spelled Differently

I ask What's the Deal With That? Let me show you something you'll see at Griffith Avenue and McCreary Street.

I noticed this several months ago, and today, while on my way to Kroger decided to stop, take pictures and share with you a peculiarity.  The sign above tells about Senator Thomas Clay McCreery and how his home sat where this corner is back in the 1800's. A building occupies the corner now that was the former Daviess County Library but now is headquarters for the Owensboro Public School System.

Now, what's the deal?

The plaque is about Senator "M-c-C-r-e-e-r-y and his former homesite.
