Last Wednesday, I had a meeting for work at Monkey Hollow Winery. (Yes, I was very happy, haha!) On our way home, we accidentally made a wrong turn. Turns out, it was right where we needed to be.

We came across the Monte Cassino Shrine in St. Meinrad, Indiana and it was absolutely beautiful!

The breathtaking chapel has been there for more than 140 years and mass is still held there. Here are some of the pictures I took from our surprise visit.

Most of the time, I'm on a direct-line to get home after a road trip. But, I'm more than thrilled that we got a little off-track. Sometimes you need to slow down and look at what's right in your backyard. Seeing this beautiful piece of history is just what I've been missing.
