Tomorrow afternoon at 3, top-ranked Kentucky hosts Ole Miss at Rupp Arena. At 5, Arkansas welcomes #14 Florida to Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville. There are interesting possibilities at play here. Let's take them in chronological order. If Kentucky beats Mississippi, the 'Cats will go to 12-0 in the SEC (Southeatern Conference) with four games to play. If Arkansas beats the Gators--and the Hogs haven't lost at home this season--then Florida will go to 8-4 in the SEC, again, with four games to play. Florida is currently ranked second in the conference, and this latter development would mean their best possible conference record would be 12-4. And if UK wins, they will already be at the 12-win threshold. This means that if these scenarios play out, Kentucky will be able to claim at least a share of the regular season SEC Championship tomorrow. Uh, that's February 18th. In case you're unaware, that is unbelievably early for a conference championship to be decided. But it could happen. And it could happen tomorrow. WBKR's live coverage of UK vs. Ole Miss begins at 3PM. Now, check out a CBS Sports interview with head coach John Calipari as he discusses the Kentucky program.
