I watch a lot of crime dramas. Always have. It's a favorite genre of mine. That new Showtime series, Ray Donovan? Good stuff, so far. But, they ARE dramas.

I've heard that people do hire hitmen to kill other people, but it always seems like it happens far more often on TV and in the movies than it does in real life.

Enter 21-year-old Julia Merfeld of Muskegon, Michigan.

Merfeld wanted her 27-year-old husband out of the way, so she climbed into the front seat of a car and attempted to put out a hit on the man. But what she didn't know was that a hidden camera was rolling and she was talking to an undercover police officer.

Merfeld has since pleaded guilty to solicitation to commit murder. Oddly enough, her husband has expressed his desire that she not receive any jail time.

I don't know what's more disturbing--the casual manner with which this woman attempts to hire a professional killer or the fact that her husband doesn't mind having the only person that wants him killed, so far as he knows, free to walk the earth.
