Bardstown Police officer Jason Ellis was shot and killed by ambushers May 25 as he picked up debris at the side of a road by ambushers. Kentucky State Police and other law enforcement members are seeking the perpetrators and are asking for your help. Here's how:

In a statement KSP says, "You might have seen or heard something you didn't realize at the time could be a clue.  If you're a Nelson County resident, and either had trees trimmed or removed from your property, or you saw someone trimming or removing trees, shortly before the Memorial Day weekend, the detectives want to hear from you, to learn what you know".

Feel free to let your friends and relatives in Nelson County know about this. Reward is $125,000. Here are the numbers to call: Bardstown Police Department 502-348-6811, Kentucky State Police 800-222-5555 or Nelson County Dispatch 502-348-3211.

In a related story, images of Officer Eliis's dog Figo at the funeral service are so touching.

Jason Ellis was 33 and left a wife and two children.
