Gary Allan is a darn good country singer. And, he has been around a long, long time. And, yet it seems he struggles for about every hit. He was once the boyfriend of someone I used to know I liked her and felt bad for the way she was treated. Now, I know, of course, I shouldn't have held negative feelings about him. That was her problem and I don't think she felt that bad either. I bet, though, he found an inspiration or two from her for a song. Smiles everyone. Gary's latest inspiration, for "It Ain't the Whiskey" is Waylon and Willie. He says his daddy took him to a country concert a few years starring those two outlaw legends along with Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson. Their song, "The Highwayman" so moved him that he changed from a punk rock fan to a die-hard country follower. I don't hear the connection in the new Gary, but I like it. See what you think.
