Before I reveal the poll results, I want to, once again, give a shout-out to ALL of the amazingly talented students in these marching bands. They started working on their 2024 programs way back in the brutal heat of July and kept working to perfect that show all the way through October.

For some bands, the season has come to an end, but for others, the dream of a state championship is still alive. To the bands performing at the ISSMA State Finals competition on November 9th, we will you all the luck in the world (see their performance schedule below). And to ALL of the bands, we want to congratulate you, and thank you for a great season.

  • North Green Brigade performs at 1:35pm

  • Boonville Band of Gold performs at 4:40pm
  • Princeton Marching Tigers perform at 5:40pm

Class D Competition Schedule

  • Mater Dei Marching Wildcats perform at 10:30am
  • Forest Park Marching Rangers perform at 10:45am

The Best High School Marching Band in Southern Indiana for 2024 Is...

Over the last month, over 53,000 votes cast for the 27 bands in the poll, once again reinforcing the fact that marching bands in Southern Indiana are loved and supported.

As is usually the case, the voting eventually came down to just a few schools. When it was all said and done, the band at the top of the list, with 45% of the votes was the BOONVILLE BAND OF GOLD! Here is a look at the rest of the top 5 vote-getters.

Step Back in Time: 1977 PCHS Band Plays President Inauguration

Even though it was 44 years ago, Winnie McConnell remembers January 20, 1977 like it was yesterday. That icy-cold day was President Jimmy Carter's Inauguration. The Princeton Community Tigers Marching Band had the immense honor of marching down Pennsylvania Avenue in the Inaugural Parade.
