Dust off your Santa hats, elf ears, Rudolph antlers, and giant car bows, because Evansville's annual Christmas parade is making its grand return to North Main Street, following a 5-year hiatus. With twinkling lights, festive floats, and joyful music filling the air, this year's parade promises to be a heartwarming event for residents of all ages.

Evansville's Christmas Parade Has Been Gone a Long Time

Has it really been five years since we've had the Christmas on North Main Parade? Well, the Director of Development for the Jacobsville Area Community Corporation, which is organizing this year's parade, says the last parade was held in 2019 - so yeah, I reckon it has been five years. Wow!

The Christmas on North Main parade, and other activities, is coming up this Sunday, November 24th. Before the parade gets underway, kiddos are invited to visit Santa's Workshop at 12:30pm, at Hope City Church. This delightful event will allow youngsters to have Christmas crafts, treats, and games, and get a Mr. & Mrs. Claus to get you in the holiday spirit before the parade begins!

The parade will get underway at 2:30pm, and will once again begin in the Civic Center parking lot (aka, the back forty). Parade participants will travel along North Main Street, through the Jacobsville Neighborhood from the intersection at Division Street to Garvin Park, showcasing an array of beautifully decorated floats, bands, and festive performers, spreading joy and holiday magic throughout Evansville.

It's always been one of my favorite parades to be a part of because of all the smiling faces I see - some new, and some belonging to longtime times. The only drawback is that my left hand usually ends up frozen (that's the one sticking out the station vehicle window), but it is totally worth it to wave at everyone along the way.
