New Thriller ‘Rust Creek’ Filmed and Set in Kentucky [VIDEO]
Make more movies in Kentucky! Make more movies in Kentucky! It's something I've been saying for quite some time.
I love movies. I love the industry. I love how they're made. And LOCATION shooting is my favorite!
It just brings the kind of authenticity that even the most expertly-designed set cannot.
It's why I'm glad we have so many filmmakers around here like PJ Starks, Daniel Benedict, and Nathan Austin.
It's why I'm glad the eerie-looking horror film The Clovehitch Killer was shot in Kentucky.
It's why I'm happy this new thriller Rust Creek was, too.
According to its IMDB page, Rust Creek is about "an overachieving college student who gets lost on her way to a job interview. A wrong turn leaves her stranded deep in the Kentucky forest. The woman must defend herself against the harsh elements and a band of ruthless outlaws. She is forced into an uneasy alliance with a strange loner who has unknown intentions."
I love this and if I could get my voice into the right ears, I'd encourage more of it.
There are plenty more, but those stand out to me because the filmmakers COULD have saved money and constructed scenery. Yet, they came to Kentucky. It was authentic, gave work to some folks who may have needed it, and was just fun for a lot of people.
And tourism is always part of the equation.
Rust Creek is currently available on Amazon Prime.
