Big Lots

Big Lots filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September of 2024 and closed all its stores in December. But now, several of them will reopen.

At least one chain is buying up several leases of former Big Lots stores as part of an aggressive expansion plan.

The lease sales offer a preview of which states might be seeing less of this chain in the future.

Sadly, the former Big Lots location will become vacant soon. The question is, what type of business would be the best fit for that space? Who would you like to see come to town?

Amid continued financial blows to the retailer, Big Lots may finally be reaching its final end as 2024 comes to a close.

It's been a challenging year for Big Lots after they've closed hundreds of stores and it doesn't appear they're done yet. Today, it was revealed that they are shuttering 50 more stores permanently and that includes a major one in Illinois.
