Is there something in the water, er, bourbon? A massive fire in Versailles that began late Tuesday night destroyed one warehouse that contained 40,000 barrels of Jim Beam.

A historic Kentucky business has been sold. Suntory of Japan has purchased the maker of Jim Beam and Maker's Mark bourbons. The acquisition was announced Monday, January 13th, with a price of $13.6 billion. That's a lot of bourbon folks... Under the deal, the current chief executive of Jim Beam, Matthew J. Shattock, and his management team will continue to lead the company.
