In January I was given the great honor of visiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  On the tour, we visited several areas of the hospital.  Two particular areas stood out to me the most.

When I traveled to St. Jude in January I knew emotions would be high and tears would flow.  However, I never imagined how closely I would identify with one particular Mother and daughter I met.

Here at WBKR, we are spending the next two days trying to strike out childhood cancer.  And every time we have our St. Jude Radiothon, we are always reminded of and inspired by Lane Goodwin, the young McLean County, Kentucky boy who, for many folks in the tristate, became THE face of childhood cancer.  We all remember putting our "Thumbs Up" and joining Lane in his fight against the mons

The 2nd Annual Auction for St. Jude Research Hospital is coming this week and there’s over 20 incredible items up for bid all to help fight childhood cancer! Join us Thursday evening at Friday’s in Owensboro.

Saturday our family made the drive down HWY 431 to Livermore City Hall for the very first Cuties For A Cure Benefit Pageant where our sweet Charlotte competed.  What a fun time!

While Chad and I were in St. Jude one of the big highlights was the Song Writer's Reception.  Darius Rucker was honored by Alabama's Randy Owen for his work with St. Jude.

This week we are preparing to head to Memphis to visit St. Jude Children's Hospital.  While I know I will be extremely blessed and educated on these precious children and their families, I can't help but have a very heavy heart about leaving my own family (Charlotte in particular).

Everyone knows that WBKR is a huge supporter of St. Jude.  We love when the community gets involved.  Michelle Vincent has created a Benefit Beauty Pageant in honor of these precious babies.

The Henderson Area Riding Club is hosting the first Annual Saddle Up For St. Jude this Saturday, October 22, at the Henderson County Fair Grounds.

Earlier this year during our St. Jude Radiothon, we introduced you to St. Jude patient, Adam.  This amazing young man was the inspiration behind this year's St. Jude song, "Brave."  And that's exactly what he is.  While battling leukemia, Adam completed a half marathon, finished and graduated high school and created an army of supporters who have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars f

It's almost time for the Moonlight Ride in downtown Owensboro to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital! This will be the third year bikers and riders will be gathering to ride all over city and help kids like Ben Halbig. Take a look!
