Tristate Bucket List

There are some seriously great phrases like "free cash" or "first day of autumn." I'm also partial to "college basketball all day long on a snowy January Saturday." But this one may be my favorite...

I'm not exactly sure why it took as long as it did to get to Gary's Drive-In for a Tri-State Bucket List visit, but it did. And, as expected, it was worth it!

We (Digital Managing Editor Ashley and myself) have met the BEST people on our Tri-State Bucket List adventures. A lot of good folks have struck gold in our region.

Moonlite has made a LOT of people happy over the many decades it's been serving up delicious barbecue and homestyle side dishes out on West Parrish Avenue.

It's been a great Bucket List year! We've traveled far and wide (within the confines of the Tri-State, of course) and sampled some DEEE-licious fare.

Pizza restaurants that aren't national chains have to do something to stand out. And that's EXACTLY what the subject of our latest Tri-State Bucket List adventure does. STANDS OUT!

In all my travels around the tri-state collecting great little restaurants for my Bucket List series, I've never once visited a funeral home.

I've had this one on the backburners of my mind for some time now. And, aside from the fact that that would make a GREAT Tony Bennett song title, I don't know I kept it there until October 2016.

First of all, Lake Malone, right? It's one of the most beautiful lakes in western Kentucky...and maybe the whole state but I haven't been to every lake in the whole state. But I'd still put money on Lake Malone being in the top 5.

I do not know how many times I've passed by Country Ham Restaurant on Highway 60 West in Owensboro. And I'm talkin' my whole life.

Well, I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention the last 6 years when I'd go out to or through Whitesville. Because right on Highway 54 sat Kelly Rae's Country Cafe.

Typically, my Tri-State Bucket List stops are at places I've been before and want YOU to visit if you haven't. This time, we did something a little different.
