A couple of Fridays ago, I went in search of fish. Not the kind you catch, well, I guess in a sense you catch it, but the kind that's all battered up and ready to serve.

I don't know a more familiar sound in the late spring/summer than the drone and the buzz of cicadas. I know the weather is a lot warmer, even humid when the buzzing is there. And when the buzzing all but ceases, all that's left of the insect is a hollow shell that is very crunchy. So why is this upcoming brood so talked about?

Ah the flower/flour pot bread, the strawberry butter, the pork chops, the meringue pies; they have all been put on hold while Patti's 1880's Settlement has been picking up the pieces and rebuilding.
The last two-headed animal find I read about was a snake and I would say that's more common than people think. Now a two-headed deer? I'd say that's extremely rare. One was sort of harvested in Western Kentucky.
