The spooky month of October is here! You see hay bales, smoke machines, pumpkins, orange lights, inflatables and of course stuffed scary monsters set-up in peoples yards as they get ready for the trick-or-treaters on October 31st! Last year I took my van around neighborhoods as my kids went trick-or-treating and played Halloween music from speakers I put on top of my van. Everyone enjoyed it, may do it again this year. This week, I've been giving away tickets to the Old Courthouse Catacombs and the House of Lecter in Evansville. And it made me start thinking about past haunted house experiences. I have visited many but, sad to say, most of them were not memorable. Three, however, stand out in my mind--and not necessarily because they were scary. Oh, that had a lot to do with it, but other factors were involved.
