I was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. I began my Country Radio career at KLLL in Lubbock, TX. Some of the places I have lived and played Country music on the radio include Kansas City, Louisville, Nashville and many other ports over the years. I have programmed some legendary stations: WDAF, Kansas City, WHN, New York City; WSM, Nashville and KVOO, Tulsa. None has been as much fun as WBKR right here in Owensboro. I enjoy fine scotch and wine. I love Major League Baseball and my team of choice is the New York Yankees. I exercise regularly at Health Park and listen to my music collection while doing so. My wife, Debra and I watch some Bravo TV shows and from time to time i make her watch an old Sopranos DVD or an episode of Mad Men.

Travis and Theresa Tritt – Happy Anniversary
Travis Tritt married Theresa Nelson on this date in 1997. Happy 17th anniversary to these two. I gotta tell you I never thought it would last. Why? I am just a pessimist.
They have three kids - sons Tristan (14), Tarian (10) and daughter Tyler 6).

Crazy Ukranian Man Holds On To Objects With One Hand Suspended Way High in the Air! Frightening
Several years ago -- decades actually -- my wife (#2) and I were driving through the beautiful Red River Gorge when we (stupidly) decided to drive up Chimney Top. After driving round and round and round we made it to the top. It was so scary. Well, to me anyway, because I fear heights so much I don't even stand up straight. 800 feet in the air and a place where hang gliders leap to their fates. So

Moon Shares Senior Moments — Texting Code Words
OK, so I have been in the texting world only a year or so. I find I like it. I don't have to talk to anyone and share feelings. You can send messages by text while watching TV, sitting at the computer, sitting anywhere -- if you get my drift...

Former Owensboro resident and NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield is selling his handsome, red Dodge pickup. Check it out but if you're interested in buying it I am unsure how you get in touch. I think you will agree, though, that both Jeremy and the truck have some miles on them but look great...
Country Music’s #1 Most Popular Music Form — New York Times Says
Country Music is bigger than ever. In 1985 I was programming New York's only Country formatted radio station, riding the train into the city and as I opened the New York Times, my heart sank. On the front page was a story, "Is Country Music Dead"...
True Detective Parody — Funny AT&T Ad
HBO's recent series hit, 'True Detective' featured a quirky character name Rust Cohle portrayed by Matthew McConaughey. I wrote about how similar Matthew and I are elsewhere. In this new AT&T ad a brilliant parody of that character teaches some kids a thing or two about infinity. Ch...

Doris Day is 90 – Yikes [Video]
Doris Day turned 90 yesterday. I revisited a story I wrote about here two years ago on her 88th. At 90, it is worth a revisit.
Moon here. I just adore Doris Day. She is 88 years old today and has had a terrific life. Sure, she's had her share of tragedies, but has persevered and advocated for many a helpless animal. Still active, too, with a new CD and DVD available at her website. Early in life s
