Owensboro Parks and Recreation is again teaming up with Independence Bank for a talent contest called Dugan's Got Talent and there's some exciting news to share. The parks department is extending the registration window to give more talented high school students in the area the opportunity to enter!

Dugan's Got Talent is a showcase of a wide variety of local talent. Participants can sing, dance, do stand up comedy, perform visual art (like painting), acrobatics and more. In 2023, the grand champion of the inaugural event was Jo Jarboe, who claimed the $4000 top prize with a breathtaking performance on aerial silks.

Jo's performance was truly like something you'd see on America's Got Talent. She was sensational and won a college scholarship from Independence Bank for her bravery and skill.

The finale of this year's Dugan's Got Talent contest is set for Friday, April 12th at the Dugan Best Recreation Center in Owensboro.

Auditions are underway now and interested students can submit audition videos for consideration.

Dugan's Got Talent '24 is open to all high school students ages 14 to 18 in Owensboro-Daviess County. Contestants can be enrolled at Owensboro High School, Apollo High, Owensboro Catholic High or Daviess County High School.

Owensboro Parks and Rec announced this week that the registration deadline is going to be extended through Friday, March 1st. To enter, each contestant must submit a 30-second maximum video of their best talent.
