Benefit for Perry County's Little Warriors

Perry County is unfortunate to have 4 children going through cancer, and 1 through a devastating bone disease. They are: Tyler Cundiff, 17 year old son of Michelle Taylor who has ALL Leukemia and has been in the hospital at Riley’s Childrens Hospital in Indianapolis since November; 18 year old Devin Hall, son of Mike & Kim Hall who has a Langerhans Cell Histocytosis (LCH) formerly called Eosinophiliac Granuloma, which is a rare disease in which causes tumors to form on his bones and the only treatment available is chemotherapy; Tyler Zogelman, 13 year old son of Tiffany & Larry Gilmore who has hepatocellular carcinoma (rare liver cancer); 6 year old Lydia Haycraft, daughter of Tiffany Haycraft who was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma (bone cancer); 5 year old Alexis Dalton, daughter of Nathan & Michelle Reid, who was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia.

In light of these little warriors in Perry County, we are organizing the first Annual Benefit for Perry County’s Little Warriors on March 31st at the Perry County 4-H Fairgrounds. Events will include: Corn Hole Tourney with registration beginning at 11am; Chicken Dinners including ½ chicken, creek fries and coleslaw for $8.00, presale pick up at Noon and sales to the general public at 1pm; Inflatables for the Kids; Auction with various donated items (over 70 at present time, including a guitar autographed by Kenny Chesney) will be auctioned by Indiana Realty & Auction and Hawhee Auction Services starting at noon; Food Booths; T-Shirt Sales have started now and will continue at the benefit; vendor booths; Damage Goods band will play from 3pm – 7pm; Marla Mundy, up and coming Country Music / Christian Music star who has recently signed with a large name (which cannot be revealed at this time) will play from 7pm – 8pm and Carter Valley Boys Band will play from 8pm – midnight.

We are currently accepting donations of $10.00 per ticket for a Henry Lever Octagon .22 Rifle to be given away the day of the benefit (donated in part by Ace’s Guns) and a 110cc Camouflage 4-Wheeler donated by Scooters N More in Tell City. Tickets can be purchased for these items from any of the committee members listed.

Cost to get into the event will be $5.00 per person or $10.00 per carload. There will be no entry cost to pick up chicken dinners. Alcohol will be available for purchase to those over 21 years of age with proper ID. We will also have a “sober driver” that will offer rides home to those that have been drinking, for a donation to the little warriors and will have security the day of the event.

We also have a facebook page, called “Benefit for Perry County’s Little Warriors” that will keep everyone up to date on the activities going on that day. We are also looking for workers for that day as well. Contacts are as follows:
