- The Jerusalem Ridge Bluegrass Celebration continues through Sunday overlooking Rosine, Kentucky, where Bluegrass music all began.

- Owensboro Lion's Club Soap Box Derby Fun Day at Ben Hawes. Bring your cars or learn about it. Saturday 8am to 2pm.

- Trunnell's Octoberfest is Saturday and Sunday, 10-6 on Saturday and 12-5 Sunday. Trunnell's Family Fun Acre and Farm Market is 6 miles south of Owensboro on 431.

- World's Longest Yard Sale is 200 miles along US Hwy 60 through Livingston, Crittenden, Union, Henderson, Daviess, Hancock, Breckinridge, and Meade counties in Western KY. 100's of local individuals, businesses and groups expected to participate.

- Sunday at 2:30 the Demolition City Roller Derby gals will have an outdoor scrimmage in the Top Spot parking lot, Green River and the Lloyd. If you have never seen a roller derby here's your chance. Completely free!

- The Farm Festival is this weekend near Philpot. John Deere tractors and equipment will be on display. 9-6:30 Saturday and 9-2 Sunday.

- Volunteers and sponsors will be hosting a non-profit fundraiser in Evansville today and Saturday to raise money for Gilda's Club Evansville. The location is on Main Street between Riverside Drive and Second Street (in front of Old National Bank Downtown) which will be closed for these two days. The events will include a Bierstube on tonight from 6pm to midnight. There is a small $5 admission for the public with $3 beer or $7 pitcher and music provided by a professional DJ.

- There will be twenty-four Barbeque grillers facing off for a "Grillin' for Gilda Cook-Off" (with prizes) and People's Choice award. Additionally, at noon, a Corn Hole Tournament will commence with teams playing each other for prizes and bragging rights. Proceeds raised from these events will directly go towards opening the Red Doors of Gilda's Club Evansville.

- Saturday is the last chance to join in the fellowship and fun of helping out at the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden. Bring your own garden tools or borrow some from the Garden. Wear your gloves, straw hat and grubby garden clothes. From 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, you can dig, hoe and mulch to your heart's content! Help us put the Garden to bed for winter! A light lunch will be served after the work session. The Garden is located at 25 Carter Road in Owensboro.

- Saturday is a Community Yard Sale at Southern Oaks Elementary school. It will be from 7-noon. For more info call Julie at 316-5206.

- The Daviess County High School Band of Pride is hosting its annual "Cooler Classic" is Saturday, Gates open at 4 p.m., opening ceremonies begin at 5:45 p.m. and the first band will take the field at 6 p.m. Eight bands are competing, including Apollo High School, Owensboro High School, McLean, Ohio, Muhlenberg, Hancock and Union county high schools, and Madisonville-North Hopkins High School. The perfection-driven DCHS Band of Pride will perform their 2011 program, "The Good Earth," in exhibition at 8:15 p.m., and the awards ceremony will begin at 8:30 p.m.

Admission is $7 per person. Children age 5 and younger will be admitted free. A variety of delicious concessions will be available, including grilled pork chop and chicken sandwiches, Little Caesar's pizza and breadsticks, brats, burgers, hot dogs, nachos and cheese, soft drinks, apples with caramel sauce and other desserts.
