"Oh, I'd love to be an Oscar Mayer wiener.
That is what I'd truly like to be.
'Cause if I were an Oscar Mayer wiener,
Everyone would be in love with me."

That song is still an occasional earworm for me.  If you are of certain generations, I'm sure you are like me in that you have fond memories of Oscar Mayer commercials and the Weinermobile. Do you still have your Official Weiner Whistle? If so, dust it off because you can visit the big weenie itself and even have a chance to ride on it!

Where Will The Oscar Mayer Weinermobile Be?

The Sav-A-Lot in Leitchfield on 415 Mill Street is celebrating their grand opening. Today they made a very special announcement on their social media, "This is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill. The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is coming to Leitchfield." Monday June 24th, from 10Am to 3PM Central, you can take a look onboard, take pictures, and get your special sticker and whistle while supplies last!

How to Win a Ride on the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile

All you have to do to try to win that coveted ride on the Weinermobile is to stop by the Sav-A-Lot from now until June 23rd and put your name in the box. The Hotdogger on duty will then draw the lucky winner who will be notified the morning of the 24th. The special ride will begin at 3PM after visitors have had a chance to stop by.

I would say its even worth the trip for folks out of town to stop in and throw your hat in the ring. I hear the Sav-A-Lot has some pretty good deals and another way to skip down memory lane. They sell old-school rectangle pizza!!

The Weinermobile will makes its way to Fort Knox, KY the next day, but I don't know if there is an opportunity to take that bad boy for a spin. Here is the calendar to track the journey. Southern Indiana folks, it will be in Evansville and Jasper in June too!
