The 85th Annual Owensboro-Daviess County Christmas Parade is coming up Saturday, November 18th on 2nd Street in downtown Owensboro. Each year, the Owensboro-Daviess County Christmas Parade Association chooses a theme for the parade and that theme aims to give participants the inspiration and guidance on how to decorate their floats. The theme of this year's parade is "the Gift of Christmas."

There's still time to enter the parade and take advantage of Early Bird pricing, which is in effect now through October 31st.  Here's a breakdown of this year's entry fees.

Parade applications AND payment must be received by October 31st, 2023, to receive Early Bird rates.  Applications will be received through November 7th, 2023, at the standard rates.

The Owensboro-Daviess County Christmas Parade, billed as "Where Kentucky starts Christmas" is THE largest Christmas parade in the area and is the second largest parade in the entire state of Kentucky, second only to the annual Pegasus Parade in downtown Louisville, which is held annually leading up to the Kentucky Derby.

Our Christmas parade has been a tradition for decades. It dates all the way back to the 1930s and has a storied history here in town. If you grew up here. you likely have fond memories of standing on the sidewalks, trying to collect candy as it was thrown from floats, handing your annual 'wish' letter to one of the elves walking up and down the streets and, of course, waiting for Santa to show up and close out the parade. The Owensboro-Daviess County Christmas Parade is magical and the 85th installment is just over a month away.
