The Owensboro Blue Bridge is set to undergo detailed inspection work and this will create traffic delays.

The inspections on the Glover Cary Bridge will begin Tuesday, June 5th, and will require the use of climbers who will take a look at the upper truss structure. There will be a man-lift working under the bridge deck along the approach spans, according to a news release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Around the middle of the week, this should create the need for lane restrictions on the KY 2262 Ohio River Bridge. (Yep, the bridge has THREE names.)

The man-lift will require a brief lane restriction on 2nd Street.

With the likelihood that workers and equipment will need to be lowered or dropped onto the street below, look for additional halts in traffic while the work is being completed.

The inspection, which is federally mandated every two years, is expected to take five or six days to complete.
