‘Fantastic’ Kentucky Man Gets an Unexpected Gift from a Hollywood Superstar
If you ask Joey Newton how he is, chances are he's going to tell you that he's "fantastic." Well, that's certainly the case today. Joey just got an amazing gift from one of his Hollywood heroes. He got a postcard from this guy!
Joey is part of the Day Training program at the Opportunity Center of Owensboro. Executive Director Rosemary Conder says the focus of the program is to ask their clients what types of goals they'd like to achieve and then help them work toward those goals.
Well, Joey has always wanted to be an actor. In fact, he was an extra in one of P.J. Starks' horror films shot here in Owensboro. Joey's photo was featured in 13 Slays Till X-Mas. But, Joey has always had aspirations of being in Hollywood and, consequently, has idolized some of Hollywood's biggest names.
For the last few months, as part of his personal Day Training journey, Joey's been writing letters to some of his Hollywood favorites. Today, all of his hard work paid off. He received a signed postcard from Adam Sandler!
As you can tell, Joey was absolutely thrilled! His reaction was priceless and, as you can imagine, a touch NSFW.
As Mary Ramsey, Joey's family home provider says, "Joey's smile is so contagious. He doesn't have to do anything other than look at you and smile and you feel better. Internally. Emotionally. His smile could light up the darkest of rooms."
Well, today that smile is so big and bright it could light up the legendary Hollywood sign! And, for a guy who's always had aspirations of going to Hollywood, it's safe to say that Hollywood has come to him.
