April means it morel mushroom season in Indiana and Kentucky and the hunt for them is on! According to MorelMushroom.com, there are actually four different varieties here in Kentuckiana that are edible- black morels, gray morels, yellow morels (the most common) and half-free morels.

Here's a quick primer on how to properly identify your morel mushrooms.

Adam's hunting trip was indeed a success and he managed to harvest a bunch of yellow morels and took them home to cook 'em up!

Adam says, "I put them in a milk bath and fried them with Kentucky Kernel seasoned flour in a cast iron skillet on medium to high heat in butter."
