Kentucky Woman Becomes One of the Youngest Store Managers in Legendary Company’s History
Pardon the pun, but Jacquelyn Gesser has never painted herself into corners. She's always had the drive to learn, grow and persist. That dedication and professionalism just helped her make a bit of history. The Owensboro, KY native and recent University of Louisville graduate just got promoted to a new position with the internationally-known paint brand Sherwin-Williams. Jackie, as she's known to friends, family and coworkers, has been working for the company for about eighteen months and has quickly risen through the ranks. Now, her success has become one of the coolest stories in the company's impressive history.
Speaking of that history, Sherwin-Williams was founded way back in 1870 in Cleveland, Ohio. That's when Henry Sherwin teamed up with Edwin Williams to create Sherwin, Williams, & Co.
Today, the company, which specializes in paints, coatings, floor coverings and more, is a worldwide brand with stores in over 120 countries. One of its newest stores is home to Jackie Gesser, who is officially a trendsetter in the company.
Last week, Jackie's parents- Susan and Chad Gesser- and siblings traveled up to Jefferson County for the big day. See, Jackie was promoted to store manager and opened a "brand spanking new store."
What makes this so remarkable is the fact that she's one of the youngest store managers in the history of Sherwin-Williams. She's THE youngest store manager in this particular district.
Here she is with her team members- Assistant Store Manager Sam Kizer and Sales Representative Mark Williams.
Making this story even sweeter is the fact that Jackie's parents traveled to Louisville for the official opening of the store. Jackie says, "They came up to be my first cash transaction!"
It was, without a doubt, an exciting day for the Gesser family. Chad shared this in his Facebook post, "Congratulations, Jackie! We're proud and happy for you!"
You can visit Jackie at the brand new Sherwin-Williams location at 9901 Brownsboro Road in Louisville.
