Schroader Family Spectacular Christmas Open House Helps Families in Need
You can help a disadvantaged child or family in need this holiday season. Join the Schroader family for a beautiful Christmas Open House this weekend in Owensboro. All proceeds benefit Christmas Wish.
This is a Christmas Wish first, and I'm here for it! The Schroader family is about giving back to the community and always supported Christmas Wish. This year they wanted to try something a little different. I recently received a call from Tammy Schroader pitching me a fundraising idea, and I loved it. They wanted no recognition, but they're getting it anyway because we're thankful.
MEET THE SCHROADER FAMILY
Tammy Schroader is in the center with her husband Gary to her left. Son Shane Edge is to her right and his wife Ana Edge is in front of him. The youngest daughter Casandra Schroader is on the end in the red jacket. Daughter Tara Thompson is on the end in the jumpsuit with her fiancé Blake Wiggins. Their son, and the one and only grandson, in Santa's arms, Samuel Wiggins.
THE SCHROADERS CHRISTMAS WISH OPEN HOUSE
Come out on Friday, December 2nd from 5 PM until 8 PM, and Saturday, December 3rd from 2 PM until 5 PM, for some festive fun. The Schroader home will be lit up and decked out for Christmas. They've turned it into a magical place for holiday fun! That's where you come in. You're invited to stop by and check out all of the beautiful decorations, grab a glass of punch, a treat, or a glass of warm cider. It will be a great place to drop off some toys to help families in need this holiday season. The Christmas Open House benefits Christmas Wish. It helps ensure that every child in the tri-state gets a visit from Santa this year!

OVER 1,300 CHRISTMAS WISH LETTERS RECEIVED TO DATE
Before we get to the hottest toys, the trend with this year's letters is alarming. 70% of the letter submissions are asking for clothes. 25% are asking for simple things like socks and underwear. Many are just asking for personal hygiene products. In my seven years as the director of Christmas Wish, this is the most requests I've seen. We offer new winter coats to any child that needs one but only supply clothing if we have some on hand. We focus more on toys for children and a Christmas meal for the family. If you can donate socks, underwear, or pajamas it would be greatly appreciated.
CHRISTMAS WISH MISSION
Since 1976 Christmas Wish has been “MAKING SURE EVERY CHILD IN THE TRI-STATE GETS A VISIT FROM SANTA”. You can make a huge difference in the lives of others and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas by giving back to those in need this holiday season.
If you're in need or know somebody that is, fill out your Christmas Wish Letter today. We'll be here to help.
As we get ready to celebrate our 46th Anniversary Season of Christmas, let's take a look back at the record-breaking 2021 season.
Because of efforts and generosity like this fundraiser, 1,628 families in need received Christmas last year. Over 5,000 children had presents under the tree. Around 1,200 families had a Christmas meal on the table, and over 25,000 gifts were handed out during the holiday season.
