Hunter Hayes

If you have ever crossed Louisiana on I-10, you have crossed the Atchafalaya Bayou Bridge. Right on the eastern edge of the bayou sits Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, home to Hunter Hayes. You can read more about where he grew up here. But, the point of this article is to exclaim that I wager he will win some CMA awards in November.

Have you all seen this?  Over the weekend, I was reading an Entertainment Weekly column called "Hunter Hayes Country Music Overachiever" and it made mention of 5-year-old Hunter singing with Hank Williams Jr. back in 1997.  I had to check out the video and share it with you all.  This is pretty awesome!

Fans everywhere are looking forward to the 2013 CMT Music Awards, which are coming up in June. The first country music awards show to let fans vote for their favorites, the yearly event also features live performances by some of country's biggest artists -- and this year is no exception.

I think this dude is one of our next country music superstars. It's in the way he's being marketed by his label. It's in his increasingly high profile. And it's--plain and simply--in his talent.

Hot country star Hunter Hayes is making a habit out of performing with legends. The 21-year-old singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist joined in an all-star jam with Blake Shelton and Stevie Wonder to close out the recent ACM awards, and now he'll join Wonder again on Monday night (April 22) for a duet on 'Dancing With the Stars.'

I keep wanting call this kid a kid. See, I did it again. Well, he looks like he's 12. He's actually 21. And he's really, really talented. I'd call Hunter Hayes a prodigy.
