I've heard of squirrels causing power outages but this is a new one on me. The Meade County Rural Electric Cooperative got a sneaky surprise when they went to check on a power outage Thursday in the Brandenburg area. Yikes!

I've always heard about the value of black snakes, in terms of their prey. But maybe they're being OVERvalued.

Yeah, warmer weather is nice, but it's prime conditions for snakes to pop up, especially on or near the pavement, like a walking trail. And a walking trail with water nearby.

Snakes are a part of life in these parts. I haven't seen one out in the wild in quite some time, but I hear and I see about incidents with snakes, real ones, all the time. A listener caught this incident on video outside the Ohio County Health Department in Hartford.
