Texas Roadhouse Spinoff Jaggers Is Growing Across Kentucky
It wasn't long after Texas Roadhouse first opened its Owensboro location in 1997 that I started noticing how full the parking lot always was. And it didn't matter what time of day it was. That still holds true, and I've noticed it nearly everywhere I've seen one.
When you're that popular, a spinoff makes sense. And in 2014, that spinoff came to fruition with the opening of Jaggers in Noblesville, Indiana. Since that time, the fast-casual chain, specializing in burgers, hand-breaded chicken and made-from-scratch sauces, has steadily expanded.
As of June 30, Texas Roadhouse reported 18 Jaggers restaurants systemwide, including 17 in the U.S. and one international location. The chain has continued expanding since then, including a new location in Louisville's Fern Creek neighborhood that opened Sept. 14.
What Is Jaggers?
Created by the late Kent Taylor, founder of Texas Roadhouse, Jaggers prides itself on authenticity and real ingredients. In fact, the company owns "Real Ingredients, Real Difference" as a registered trademark.
Those real ingredients are represented across the Jaggers menu, which features a wide variety of burgers and chicken sandwiches, as well as chicken tenders, hearty salads, milkshakes, and seasonal offerings featuring Korean hot chicken.

"Jaggers has me in a chokehold. If I want a burger and fries I usually end up at Jaggers."
A post from the "What's Up Frankfort KY" Facebook page reveals a comment section full of Jaggers love. And this YouTube influencer is no less impressed...and look at that haul.
Jaggers Keeps Growing in Kentucky
And more Kentucky communities will soon get a chance to see what all that love is about. Jaggers, which operates multiple locations in Louisville, Lexington, and Frankfort, is moving into Northern Kentucky after a new location was approved for Florence. But wait, there's more. Texas Roadhouse Inc. has filed plans for another Louisville location, this one on Dixie Highway.
Could Jaggers Come to Western Kentucky?
Well, so far, nothing yet. Jaggers hasn't announced any plans for our part of the Commonwealth. But with new locations popping up elsewhere in Kentucky, we'll certainly keep an eye on it.
After all, the restaurant that inspired the spinoff seems to do pretty well around here.
