The Alma Randolph Charitable Foundation Dinner
The Alma Randolph Charitable Foundation Dinner is Tuesday, May 8th at 6:30pm. This years dinner is set to be held at The Hines Center.
This years event is sports themed with several regional sports figures scheduled to be in attendance. WKU Men's Basketball Coach Ray Harper, KWC Men's Basketball Coach Todd Lee and Former MLB Brad Wilkerson are just a few scheduled to attend.
The mission of the Alma Randolph Charitable Foundation Inc is to provide new back-to- school clothing for the disadvantaged children in Owensboro-Daviess County. They believe that the program enhances their self-esteem and allows them to return to school with dignity and ready to focus on learning. Referrals are submitted by the area homeless shelters, youth centers and the city and county school systems. Each child selected to participate in the annual shopping project receives a voucher to purchase new clothing and shoes for school.
The dress for the event is very casual, just like you were going to a sporting event. I'll be there (in a cheerleading outfit of course!) ready to raise money for this great, local charity.
The following people are set to be in attendance:
WKU Men's Basketball Coach Ray Harper
Former UK Football Star and NFL Player Mark Higgs
Former Major League Baseball Player Brad Wilkerson
Former UK Basketball and NBA Player Walter McCarty
KWC Men's Basketball Coach Todd Lee
WKU Football Head Coach Willie Taggert
University of Louisville Chaplain Father Ed Bradley
WKU Women's Head Basketball Coach Michelle Clark-Heard
Brescia University Women's Basketball Coach John Swickrath
And, of course.... Alma Randolph!
Tickets are $50 each or $400 for a table of eight.
For tickets, call 270-689-2353.
Reservations are due by Saturday, May 5th.
Hope to see you all at this great event! I'll be the blonde in the cheerleading outfit!
