Nikki Pottgieser, who lives in Owensboro, Kentucky, comes from a family who enjoys making the most of vacation. Her parents traveled all over Mexico for years and tropical getaways became a seasonal tradition. Nikki says, "We would open up presents from Santa, who gave us snorkel gear and bathing suits. Our tree would be out by mid-December, because we were on the way to the airport!"

They'd fly off to Mexico and celebrate Christmas. Nikki has some cherished memories too. They'd "make prime rib on the grill and all of us kids would decorate our sugar cookies we made on the grill."

That tradition and the family's love of Mexico has carried with Nikki into her adulthood. She owns an amazing and breathtaking getaway in Troncones, Mexico!

Trocones is approximately 20 miles north of the Ixtata/Zihuatanejo airport which is roughly a 30-minute drive. Zihuatanejo, by the way, was referenced in the movie The Shawshank Redemption. Appropriately, it's quite the escape. Nikki says Alaska Airlines flies there and she encourages you to check out her family's vacation getaway. It's called Villa Festiva!

Nikki admits that she's visited much of Mexico, but Troncones is 'the most amazing place ever.' She says you'll find the BEST food you've ever had and she can even arrange a cook at the house for you.

And speaking of the house, Villa Festiva is stunning! Here's a fantastic exterior shot.
