Owensboro, KY Radio Station Celebrates Local Businesses with Free One-Hour Broadcasts

It's back! For the fourth consecutive year, The Country Station, 92.5 WBKR in Owensboro, Kentucky is celebrating local businesses with our #WeLoveLocal campaign. That campaign started back in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

That year, because of social distancing and isolating, store closures and more, was an exceptionally difficult year for small business owners. So, we rolled out our We Love Local campaign and offered local businesses in the area a free one-hour broadcast. It was a huge success and we booked all of our available slots. During November and the first week of December 2020, we hosted 50 one-hour broadcasts. It was a really impactful way to spread some love and holiday cheer while celebrating the importance of our local businesses.

Because the original campaign was so popular and important, we kept it and 2023 marks the fourth year in a row we're offering We Love Local broadcasts. And they are indeed FREE. The only thing the business owner has to do is pay a reduced talent fee (just $50) to the air personality who comes to do the remote.

This year, we're excited to announce that a well-known and respected locally-owned business- Schwartz Heating and Cooling- is sponsoring the entire campaign. Schwartz is celebrating over 30 years in business and "three generations of excellence."

This year's broadcasts are available from Monday, November 6th through Friday, December 1st and are offered on a first come, first served basis. There are ten available per week and businesses are limited to one broadcast each.
