We'd heard about another chance for wintry precipitation coming our way at week's end. Well, now it's official.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Owensboro and the tri-state.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON FRIDAY TO 3 AM CST
SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet
accumulations of up to two inches are expected generally along
and north of a line from Perryville Missouri to Marion Illinois
to Owensboro Kentucky. Further south, ice accumulations of
around one to two tenths of an inch are expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Indiana, southeast Missouri,
  western Kentucky and southern Illinois.

* WHEN...From noon Friday to 3 AM CST Saturday. Precipitation will
begin first in southeast Missouri and southwest Illinois early
Friday afternoon and then progress eastward to include the
  entire region during the evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The
hazardous conditions could impact the afternoon and evening
commute home from school and work, and also during evening
school activities. Bridges, elevated surfaces, and untreated
roadways will tend to freeze first. Even very small amounts of
ice can produce very dangerous driving conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

Here we go again.

And there go all the bread, milk, and eggs from the grocery stores.
