Your Guide to the 2022 Kentucky State Fair
Plan on going to the Kentucky State Fair this year? I plan on going for my first time, so I thought I'd research some quick tips and FAQs for you all and myself!
When and Where is the Fair and What are its Hours?
The fair takes place at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville from August 18th to 28th. Find a schedule of events here.
As the saying goes, the early bird gets the worm and in this case, the worm is cheaper tickets. Through August 5th, parking AND tickets are $8 per person but admission at the gate is $10 per person plus $10 parking per vehicle. Save yourself some money and take advantage of the early bird deal!
Parking is located in Lot A for most vehicles.
Wanting to stay in your RV? No worries, parking for RVs is available in the F lot between gate 4 and gate 6 of the Expo Center. This space has no water or electricity, requires a reservation, and is $20 per night. Call (502) 367-5380 for more information.
Texas Roadhouse Concert Series
With paid admission to the fair, you can see artists like Trace Adkins, Niko Moon, and Lee Greenwood. Read more about the lineup here. Located in parking lot L between the main gate and gate 2, concerts begin at 8 PM with gates opening at 6:30 PM on August 18th through 27th, and on August 28th, the concert will begin at 4 PM with gates opening at 2:30 PM.
The Kentucky State Fair has many attractions that include the State's history, agriculture activities and FFA exhibits, FREE health screenings and assessments, and many more.
The Best Foods and Desserts
I'm a big sweets kinda person so this list will mainly contain desserts I'm looking forward to trying.
Check out this delicious funnel cake and ice cream truck Chad and Valerie visited back in 2014.
And this amazing-looking banana split Angel is holding (isn't she cute?)
Can't forget the drinks! Check out this unique leg cup slushy. I'm definitely gonna have to get my own for a few selfies.
Then this delicious donut burger. I'll finally be able to try this delicious delicacy I've been seeing every summer all over my socials.
More sweets! Sorry, couldn't help myself. I'm so excited already and the fair is still two months away.
