On a day when Miley Cyrus is grabbing most of the headlines for her pathetic and disgusting display on the VMA's, it's nice to see a story like this.

Green Shoe Studios recently sponsored an online songwriting competition through YouTube. The winner was 96-year-old Fred Stobaugh of Peoria, Illinois, who wrote a song about his late wife of 73 years who passed away last April. The song, "Sweet Lorraine," arrived at Green Shoe Studios in a manila envelope rather via a YouTube link like most all of the other entries.

Fred granted the studio permission to put music to his lyrics and the result is a video that's just now starting to get noticed by media outlets which will hopefully make it viral so that everyone gets a chance to see it.

What a great story!
