Many area businesses have been reporting difficulty filling jobs over the last couple of years, so this is good news to report. UNEMPLOYMENT IN KENTUCKY

The unemployment rate in Kentucky dropped 19.66% from the previous week based on a new study from the personal finance website WalletHub.

To identify where unemployment claims are decreasing the most, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia based on changes in unemployment claims for several key benchmark weeks.

1st – Unemployment Claims Decrease vs. Previous Week

48th – Unemployment Claims Decrease vs. Same Week Last Year

5th – Cumulative Unemployment Claims in 2023 vs. Same Period Last Year

28th – Unemployment Claims per 100,000 People in the Labor Force

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.
